BLCOMP New Projects – Summer of 2023

5 New Projects for BLCOMP INC.

Yes it’s been awhile for posting… we hear at BLCOMP INC. have been Very Busy…. Looking into a lot of projects….

To summarize we have five new ones:

  • Custom LED Light Shows (inside and out)
  • Phone Presence for the company of any size
  • Custom Digital Movie Displays/ Posters
  • Solar Converted House
  • Local Digital Signage.

Just think….Custom Program of Any Amount of LEDS for any variant.  I’m sure you are like us and usually in winter time you drive past that one house that has all the different colours all sequenced to music any you wondered wow and how… then how much to set-up and how much to maintain???  Well we looked into this and discovered not only how to do this… but how much it costs for any occasion…. We also went not one step farther but several steps further…. Basically we brainstormed what if scenarios… not everyone wants that house in winter…. Maybe have that house in other areas like Halloween or saints Patrick’s Day…. Or when your favourite team colours are in the playoffs and you want to show everybody you care… or maybe forget about the outside of the house and do a custom layout for that special room inside… or the back yard… and why just stop at lights, why not add projectors???  Well we hear at BLCOMP INC. have a custom LED idea we are going to try… and see just how much fun at any scale what it takes….  More to update our project…

Communication and Company’s Presence in the Real World…. What it takes to have a simple phone system that’s very easy to manage not only at one location but scaleable up to many locations…. Like having offices virtually next door to each other but in reality having locations at different physical areas accessible via high speed Internet… and maybe that one extension on the floating private yacht? Who knows… with the technology available today we can securely connect anything… One problem we find is just using the system to handle your customers can be an issue… lost calls or missed calls means potential lost revenue… who wants that… we know in today’s market we cannot loose new business no matter how busy we are… so why not use the technology we have today and make sure if a potential revenue source like a phone message we get right away and not just sit there leaving the customer to go to you competitive market… lost revenue is lost revenue… no one wants that… another thought…. Digital Phone extensions in every room that can act as phones/intercom’s/announcements… the possibilities are endless… another potential is the new phone technologies add new perspectives (video calling, live camera displays and door accessibility)

Remember when you frequently went to the local theatre and watched the local movie posters to entertain and entice to upcoming movies… wouldn’t it be nice and for that special game room (or such) to have your own digital movie posters (maybe animated ones?) of favourite movies or movies you have in inventory… and who knows… show currently playing movies with current place in movie play position… or upcoming movies and showtimes for planning such days…. A customer wanted to know if we could accommodate their needs…. They wanted digital movie posters throughout the living space to show family members and friends the current movies in the collection and when planning on playing them…with an additional twist the digital posters also show what is currently playing and where it is in the show…very handy to have just outside your personal movie theatre maybe?

How many times have you wished you could just cut the power cable after reading one of those utility power bills?  Asking yourself what the bleep does that charge mean?  The fact you have to pay to use it and the right to pay to transport it?  Well someone thoughtfully said enough!!! Hired us to fix this…. He decided to go solar and go off grid…. We convinced him not to fully go off grid (the location wasn’t suitable for his area to go fully off-grid)… what we did was very iconic instead… yes we went solar…. And yes we went off the necessity of the grid… after cutting the cables after the utility meter going into the house we connected multiple all-in-one solar conversion to handle the multi-phases going into the main power breaker system supplying the power to the house.  Then the solar panels we connected to the converters and also the battery packs as well.  The primary source of power is now the solar panels that charge the batteries, the batteries then convert power back to the main power panel.  For added support we Re-connected the grid wires dater the utility meter to the secondary connection to the solar converters.  This would be a secondary source or backup power to charge the batteries (if needed) and only at night when the cheapest dollar per power is calculated, it would not be used during the day unless the batteries were extremely low in power.  After observing the site for a few weeks (including a lot of rainy days) the system only used the grid power to charge the batteries for only 20 minutes on top-off in total so far.  The power utility sent a technician over thinking something happened to the connection (due to the very low consumption) and verified to the meter all was good.  The technician wanted to see inside the house to check things especially after seeing the solar panels in the back yard… the home owner said no repeating the quote from the utility: “Everything after the Meter is the Homeowners responsibility and Not the Power Utility”.  Note we did have a qualified inspection done with everything approved!  We also didn’t have to change the wiring inside the house after the panel…

When you visit a local eatery or shopping area one sees a new technology item,  Digital Signage… A community contacted us in asking us to set-up an information system throughout the property, in other words a form of digital signage kiosk system controlling from one location and easy to manage.  Well we took a look into the availability of existing signage services and we outraged in what the charge, also the connections that are needed to setup anything with nothing locally controlled.  It’s ok if you have many screens located in vast areas and need a cloud based system to run those screens, but in a small community with all screens on the same network it’s overwhelming one overkill not to mention the monthly charge per screen.  We decided to keep things in-house without any infrastructure to the internet.  This would keep costs down especially over time, and locally managed.  Every screen had the same content… local time and in some cases updated weather every 15 minutes.  The screens were placed in various locations in the community (laundry rooms, party rooms, entrances and other common places).  They controlled the contents on one server from anywhere in the community securely.  Not a difficult setup, only 10 screens on a dedicated network with one server in the community office.
